It’s never too late to learn piano. We understand that adults are constantly juggling work, family, and everything in between. It’s why we work to help you develop a very personal and individual outlet for creativity and self-expression. Learning or continuing piano study can be so gratifying and enjoyable. We promise to make this experience all your own – encouraging you to discover your true musicality. Many of the methods we use for teens work great for adults. And they’re suited for regular piano lessons for adult beginners through all levels.

Start by checking out methods we like on the teens page. Our piano lessons for adults are flexible. We assess your particular needs and goals through an intuitive approach. And we’ll quickly find the ideal course of study and teaching method suited for you. Our adult learners range from those who’ve studied music as children or teens and want to pick it up again, to adults who have never played music in their life. With energy, persistence, and passion, we’ll tailor methods we choose to your individual learning style. Here are a few additional methods we might use in addition to the ones listed in the teens page.

Your Personal Binder

You’ll bring it to each lesson. It’ll supplement methods we choose for you. Includes Strengthening, Theory, Scales, Chords, and Songs/Pieces. We’ll update each section with relevant coursework and lots of blank staff paper so you can build a solid foundation. We teach scales and chord theory in some unique – even unconventional ways. Like the Circle of Fifths chord and inversion jam, or scale improvising while we accompany you with bass, drums, and chords. We use the metronome and drum patterns so you can develop good feel and improve timing.

The Real Book

The Real Books are the best-selling jazz books of all time. Since the 1970s, musicians have trusted these volumes to get them through every gig, night after night. The problem is that the books were illegally produced and distributed, without any regard to copyright law, or royalties paid to the composers who created these musical masterpieces. Hal Leonard is very proud to present the first legitimate and legal editions of these books ever produced.

• Every conscientious musician appreciates these books
• Produced accurately & ethically
• Greatest jazz tunes & standards of all time
• Includes 400 songs
